If you are choosing hardwood floors be sure and choose a hardwood that is pet friendly and will hold up over time. Oak is always a good choice. “Get a sample” If you also need carpet, choosing a short pile with a thick pad is the best way to go, it’s easier to clean and will hold up if you have a lot of traffic.
When choosing a countertop for your kitchen, bathroom or laundry room can be challenging and expensive but it doesn’t have to be. Look for sales and always ask the retailer if they have remnants instead of buying a full slab of granite. Also, you can go wrong with solid colors.
Now that you have the cabinets, flooring and countertops picked out. Now is when you choose your tile and backsplashs. Take your samples with you and compare the colors with different tiles.
Now here’s the biggest challenge...paint colors have undertones so when you picked out that beautiful gray color for your bathroom just to realize later that it looks green it’s because every color has undertones and changes colors in different lighting. Do the research and take a trip to your local paint store because some paint stores have in-house designers.
When choosing hardware for your cabinets choose something that will compliment your cabinet and not look to massive. There are so many styles and color choices available so take your time. “Take your cabinet samples”
